Mineral Specimen #768    Blue Fluorapatite on Green Muscovite

Emmons Quarry, Uncle Tom Mountain, Greenwood, Oxford Co., Maine, USA

This is a very interesting specimen. The Apatite is a nice blue color with some of the crystals being quite gemmy. The Muscovite is a greenish color in places and composed of hexagonal columns. There are also some unidentified, clear, thin crystals on one side (Bertrandite or just tabular Quartz ?). The last picture shows the overall curve of the specimen. The specimen is in excellent condition.
