Mineral Specimen #728 Gemmy Red Sphalerite on Quartz with Galena
Lechang Mine, Lechang Co., Shaoguan Prefecture, Guangdong Province, China
A very gemmy group of large Sphalerite crystals on a bed of druzy Quartz. The color is a good reddish orange. There are also a number of dodecahedral Galena crystals, some of which are coated on one side with druzy Quartz. The largest group of crystals measures over 2 cm across. The specimen is in excellent condition and with no appreciable damge.
