Mineral Specimen #678 Sphalerite, Quartz, Galena and Pyrite
Gjudyurska Mine, Zlatograd, Smolyan Oblast, Bulgaria
This specimen exhibits some very nice Sphalerite crystals. These crystals have a habit which is triangular, the color is black, and the luster is very high. The one closeup picture has a Sphalerite crystal reflecting a bright blue. This is the reflection of the sky through my work shop window; this blue is alos seen in some of the other photos. There are also some Galena crystals with a very rounded habit. These Galena crystals exhibit strange growth lines. The specimen is in very good condition. All I could find broken was the corner of one of the Sphalerites at the edge of the specimen.
