Hardin Co., Illinois

8 x 5.3 x 3.1 cm
3.1 x 2.1 x 1.2 in

Sold

Ex. A. Neely, Wrapped in Hardin County Independent newspapers from 1963

Small, white to off-white colored, needle like crystals of Strontianite coat Fluorite crystals. The Fluorite ranges from blue/violet to pale violet to a muted, light yellow. Note: the blue/violet color is lighter than in some of the pictures where the color looks darker due to the underlying black background because the FLuorite is translucent. There is also, a single, light brown colored Calcite crystals. Under UV, the Strontianite crystals fluoresce a light, creamy color, the Calcite fluoresces a bright orange/yellow color and the Fluorite fluoresces a faint blue/violet which unusually for Fluorite from the area.

Condition: Good

Flaws: There is really no readily visible damage, but most likely, some of the small Strontianite crystals are not complete.
