Mineral Specimen #640 Red and Blue Tourmaline
Pederneira claim, Sao Jose da Safira, Doce valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil
The tip of this Tourmaline is a bright pink/red. The interior of the crystal is a light blue, but there is also an outer layer of light pink. If the crystal is viewed directly at the side, it appears blue, but at an angle it has a lavender tint. The specimen is very gemmy in places but there are areas of internal fractures. There is a small secondary crystal at the base. The specimen is in good condition with the exception of the internal fractures including a fracture at one of the bottom corners of the termination.
