Stromatolites are fossilized mounds of cyanobacteria. On this specimen, these mounds have been replaced with microcrystalline Quartz and are visible in cross section as elliptical shapes in various shades of color ranging from beige/tan and pink/orange . The name Paddock Jasper (or sometimes Paddock Agate) is named after Jim Paddock who was the first person to identify this material from this location.

Condition: Composed of massive material.

Flaws: Essentially massive material.
