Mineral Specimen #6315 Copper Crystals with Barite
White Pine Mine, White Pine, Ontnagon Co., Michigan
16.5 x 7.5 x 2.9 cm
$250 / Reserved
Prior to 1995
Elongated, branching Copper crystals with attached Barite. This is an unusual association for which the White Pine is noted. One unusual and interesting aspect of the Barite is that it fluoresces a pink/orange color under SW UV. This is not a strong florescence but unusual for Barite with Copper being the likely exciter. It was not possible to get a good picture of the fluorescence of the Barite.
Condition: Good
Flaws: Most of the Barite is cleaved.
