HgS
A very unusual and interesting specimen on which small, elongated Gold crystals with a herringbone, arborescent habit have grown on the surface of dull, black colored Metacinnabar. The detail of the crystals must be viewed under magnification in order to fully observe the intricate crystal habit. The specimen is from a location from which specimens are rarely available. Despite an extensive description of the history of ore production for the location on mindat.org, no pictures have been posted.
Condition: Good
Flaws: Nothing Appreciable
