Mineral Specimen #6233 Silver Crystals with Minor Copper
Kearsarge #4, Kearsarge, Houghton Co., Michigan
3.1 x 1.5 x 0.4 cm
Sold
Collected Spring, 2018
Well formed, sharp, elongated Silver crystals which were recently recovered from one of the upper levels of the Kearsarge #4 mine (most of the mine is flooded and has not been active since the mid 1960s). There is minor attached Copper and massive, milky Quartz. I have a personal attachment to the Kearsarge area in that my uncle used to own a bar in Kearsarge when the mines were active. His name was Richard Kellogg and he wrote a book entitled "Wall of Silver" about a lost mine with a massive amount of Silver. This is one of two specimens recently purchased (the other is also listed on the website).
Condition: Excellent
Flaws: Nothing Appreciable
