Sao Jose da Safira, Doce valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil

7.4 x 6.2 x 55.1 cm

Well formed, platy crystals of Albite have formed a boxwork structure with a see-through hollow in the middle of the specimen. The Albite has a good, glossy luster. The color is a very pale blue (a little more blue than in the pictures). The associated Lepidolite is an unusual dark brown color with a hint of maroon/purple. The Lepidolite crystals are crudely formed. Some of the surfaces of the Lepidolite have a high luster, but most are matte.

Condition: Good

Flaws: There are a couple of small incomplete crystals.
