Mineral Specimen #601 Copper Attached to Host Rock
Cheng Men Shan Deposit, Jiurui Mining District, Jiujiang County, Jiujiang Prefecture, Jiangxi Province, China
The Copper on this specimen developed in a seam. Most of the encasing rock has broken away, but what is left is firmly attached. The Copper exhibits distorted, flattened crystal growth due to having formed in an enclosed space. There is a reddish tarnish on the Copper which enhances its appearance.
