Mineral Specimen #5873 Copper Crystals (coated)
Phoenix Mine, Phoenix, Keweenaw Co., Michigan
Sold
Well formed, Copper crystals with a reddish coloration likely due to a micro coating of Cuprite. The specimen has been lacquered which was often done in past. The specimen could be quite old judging by the type of lacquer; however, the dumps still produce specimens. Because of the lacquer, it is difficult to distinguish the attached material; however, some appears to be pale colored Prehnite which is often found attached to Copper at the mine.
Condition: Good
Flaws: The specimen has been coated with a lacquer.
