Mineral Specimen #5198    Calcite

Tri State District, Joplin, Missouri

7.6 x 5.2 x 3.6 cm
3 x 2 x 1.4 in

Sold

Ex. A. Neely, 1960s

A single Calcite crystal which is a light yellow/orange/brown color. Due to internal cleaves, it has a nice glow when well lit. The surface appears to have been exposed to acidic ground waters and is a bit rounded with exposed growth channels. This was not done to mask defections because the cleaved surface on the bottom of the specimen does not exhibit exposure to acid.

Condition: Very Good

Flaws: There is one small bruised area, one small chip on one of the edges and one small internal cleave.
