Mineral Specimen #5122    Mixite with Likely Altestite

Schmiedestollen dump, Wittichen, Schenkenzell, Black Forest, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany

Cu2+6Bi(AsO4)3(OH)6·3H2O and likely Bi2O(AsO4)(OH)

Mixite is present across of the surface of this specimen as a crust of micro crystals. There are also micro, spherical aggreagates of a yellow mineral which is likely Altestite. The matrix is composed primarily of reddish colored Barite.

Condition: Good

Flaws: Nothing Appreciable
