A very large Garnet crystal from an obscure location high in the Alps on the Italian/Austrian border. The crystal is well formed with relatively sharp edges and corners. The faces of the crystals are flat with a good luster. On the faces, there are numerous indentions many of which contain Biotite. The color is a very dark, opaque purple/red.

Condition: Good

Flaws: The specimen has two areas of contact which account for 25% of the surface area of the crystal. There is minor chipping on some of the edges and corners.
