Mineral Specimen #5029    Plumbogummite Pseduomorph after Pyromorphite

Yangshuo Mine, Yangshuo Co., Guilin Pref., Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China

Powder blue colored Plumbogummite has partially replaced lime green colored Pyromorphite. The Plumbogummite has a very interesting skeletal structure. Many of the crystals retain a core of Pyromorphite. A rhombic crystal of white Calcite is also attached. The Plumbogummite fluoresces bright green under SW UV and less so under LW (the photos were done under SW).

Condition: Very Good

Flaws: The Plumbogummite is missing in places revealing the Pyromorphite core; most of this is not damage but natural.

7.1 x 6.4 x 5.8 cm
