A very unique and curious specimen on which Smithsonite crystals have completely covered small, slender Quartz crystals arising from a bed of massive Chert. Quartz crystals are really not that common from the Tsumeb mine. The Smithsonite crystals have a high, sparkly luster with colors in various shades of light yellow/orange/tan and light to dark gray. These colors are likely due to unidentified inclusions. Also present are white colored Calcite crystals with a twinned habit. There is a spray of these crystals with a hopper like growth which is more impressive in person than the photos.
Condition: Excellent
Flaws: Nothing Appreciable
