Tsumeb, Namibia

This is a beautiful plate of Dioptase crystals. It looks much better in real life. The color of Dioptase is almost impossible to capture with a digital camera. To get this close with the color, these photos were taken under natural sunlight which explains the bright starburst patterns. The crystals have a high luster. The specimen is in nearly perfect condition; the only exception is one of the Calcite crystals in the middle of the specimen is worn on the edges.
