Mineral Specimen #4645 Fluorite Octahedron with Included Chalcopyrite
Cave-In-Rock, Hardin Co., Illinois
A relatively large Fluorite octahedron which has inclusions of layers of small, sparkly Chalcopyrite crystals. The color of the Fluorite is clear/transparent but the Chalcopyrite gives it an overall light gray color. The very tip of one corner is purple in color along with another layer approximately 1 cm lower.
Condition: Fairly Good
Flaws: There are quite a number of internal cleaves which are apparent in the photos. Also, the surfaces are uneven in places.
