Mineral Specimen #451    Leucite

Poggio Nibbio, Vico Lake, Viterbo Province, Latium, Italy

K(AlSi2)O6

This specimen is composed of numerous white Leucite crystals in a gray lava matrix. Many of the crystals are broken, but some are still intact. According to the Dave Shannon label that came with a flat of these, one can, with patience and a bit of luck, extract complete crystals.
