Mineral Specimen #418    Quartz Crystal Cluster

Jackpot Mine, Pulaski County, Arkansas

Many of the Quartz crystals of this specimen are water clear. This is particularly true for the largest and longest crystals. The longest crystal is 6.5 cm in length. The terminations of many of the crystals, especially the largest ones, are composed almost entirely of one face giving the crystals a beveled appearance. The Quartz has a high luster. The specimen is in good condition with only minor chipping on some of the terminations. There is another crystal which appears to have broken off at the base, but this happened long ago and indeed has healed over. There is some very minor, light iron staining on the matrix. None of these imperfections affect the aesthetics of the specimen.

12.5 x 8.4 x 6.6 cm
