La Pita Mine, La Pita, Maripi, Vasquez-Yacopi Mining District, Boyaca Department, Colombia

The Emerald on this specimen is a nice bright green. Much of the material is clear and gemmy. Some of the crystals are terminated including one which is very gemmy. It measures 7 mm in length and 4 mm across. The specimen is in decent condition although some of the crystals are incomplete. The specimen does feel like it has been oiled which is extremely common with Emerald specimens and done by the Columbians. It is unlikely a specimen from this mine can be found which has not been treated in like manner.
