Mineral Specimen #3675    Malachite on Cerussite

Mina Cobre, El Cobre, Zacatecas, Mexico

Ex. Steve Pullman

An unusual combination of green colored Malachite on contrasting light orange colored Cerussite (the orange color appears to be from iron oxide staining). The Cerussite crystals are bladed and have a glossy luster. The specimen has been glued onto a styrofoam base within a 2 inch fold up box. Please note: although Malachite is listed on mindat for this location, Cerussite is not. The specimen is in good condition but some of the Cerussite crystals are incomplete.
