Mineral Specimen #3635    Chamosite Pseudomorph after Almandine

Spurr Mountain Mine, Imperial Heights, Baraga Co., Michigan

A large garnet crystal which has pseudomorphed to black colored Chamosite. The crystal is crudely formed with uneven surfaces and rounded edges but is about as large as this type of specimen gets. The specimen is in good condition with no appreciable damage.
