Mineral Specimen #275    Quartz cast after Anhydrite

Upper New Street Quarry, West Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey

Ex. Ernie Schlichter

This specimen reminds one of a clam shell. This is a classsic New Jersey location which operated between 1893 and 1925. During development for housing in the late 1980s, many new specimens where unearthed. It is hard to say when this specimen was collected. The Quartz has a faint pink cast to it.
