Mineral Specimen #1344 Esperite, Willemite, Franklinite
Parker Shaft, Franklin Mine, Franklin, Sussex Co., New Jersey, USA
Type Location
1930s
PbCa2Zn3(SiO4)3
Under shortwave UV, Epserite glows a vivid lemon yellow contrasting with the green Willemite. Esperite is very rare and no longer produced at this location (and has only been found in very small quantities at one other location). This is a slab cut from a much larger specimen which was in the collection of Claude Bullen who purchased it in the 1930s.
