Mineral Specimen #1333 Yellow Lepidolite on Quartz
Linopolis, Minas Gerais, Brazil
It is unusual to find Lepidolite yellow in color. The Lepidolite on this specimen covers the ends of two Quartz crystals. The Lepidolite is composed of small platey crystals having a high luster. Because of the many crystal faces, the Lepidolite is quite sparkly. The Quartz is doubly terminated and is actually a very light colored Smoky Quartz. The specimen is in fairly good condition with the exception that the termination of the Quartz is incomplete at the end with the Lepidolite.
