Mineral Specimen #1299    Prase - Quartz with included Hedenbergite with Hematite Iron Roses

Serifos Island (Seriphos), Cyclade Islands, Kyklades Prefecture, Aegean Islands Department, Greece

A translucent green quartz, or prase, crystal. The green color is due to the inclusion of Hedenbergite. At the base, are two Iron Roses of Hematite. The specimen is in fairly good condition, but there is a chip on one side of the specimen. The termination is in very good condition.
