Mineral Specimen #1289 Vanadinite on Calcite
Mina San Carlos, Chihuahua, Mexico
The Vanadinite crystals on this specimen are hexagonal and a chocolate brown color. This is classic Mexican material mined prior to 1975. The largest crystal is 4 mm long and 2.5 mm across. The Calcite is snow white with a high luster and sparkle. The specimen is in good condition except on part of the specimen coverage is missing in one section. On the rest of the specimen, the Vanadinite crystals are complete and the Calcite is bruised in only one small area.
