Mineral Specimen #1262 Rutilated Quartz with Hematite
Novo Horizonte, Bahia, Brazil
This is a rather unusual and unique Rutilated Quartz specimen. One double terminated crystal has a second crystal attached at one end at an obtuse angle. Both crystals have a wide, flat habit and are quite thin. The length of the larger crystal is 5.5 cm and the length of the smaller is 2.5 cm. The Quartz is quite clear with the exception of the bottom of the crystals, which is composed many smaller crystal faces and small Hematite crystals. The specimen is in very good condition with the exeption of one small chip on one of the terminations of the larger crystal.
