Mineral Specimen #1259 Unidentified Inclusions (probably Tourmaline) in Quartz
Searchlight District, Clark Co., Nevada, USA
These Quartz crystals have an unidentified included mineral. This mineral is found as thin hair like crystals which are a very dark blue almost black color. The mineral appears to be Tourmaline. These inclusions impart a blue gray color to the Quartz crystals. The Quartz crystals have a high luster. On the back of the specimen, in a few small places, there appear to be a coating of micro crystals of Hematite. The specimen is in fairly good condtion with the exception of some chipping on the tips of the terminations. Ex. Steve Pullman
