Mineral Specimen #1243    Rhodochrosite

Sweet Home Mine, Alma, Park Co, Colorado

A stack of rhombohedral Rhodochrosite crystals which exhibit the rich color for which the Sweet Home Mine is famous. The largest crystal is about 17 mm diagonally across from corner to corner. There are also a few small Quartz crystals which are mostly on the bottom of the specimen. The specimen is in very good to excellent condition. The only flaws are some internal cleavage fractures and some very minor chipping on one edge (which I found under 10x).
