Mineral Specimen #1211    Amazonite with possible Phenakite

Florissant, Crystal Park area, Teller County, Colorado, USA

The Amazonite on this specimen has a very good vibrant blue green color. There is a bit of complexity to the habit. On several surfaces can be found what appear to be small, gemmy Phenakite crystals. Note: these crystals have not been analyzed but are similar to other Colorado specimens of Phenalite on Amazonite. The specimen is in very good condition with no appreciable damage.
