Mineral Specimen #1162    Amethyst

Gunajuato, Mexico

The Amethyst from this location (a group of Silver mines) is immeadiately recognizable due to its unique habit. This specimen varies from clear Quartz to a very deep purple with some sharply defined dark purple phantoms. One side of the specimen is coated with clear micro crystals. The bottom of the specimen is quite unique with some odd shaped white crystals and one dark, large Amethyst point which appears to be a second termination of one of the larger crystals on the top. The specimen is in very good to excellent condtion with little or no damage.
