Huanzala Mine, Huallanca District, Dos de Mayo Province, Hunuco Department, Peru
A small thumbnail sized specimen of Fluorite of a very attractive light purple color. The Fluorite crystals are of a highly modified cubic habit exhibiting a spherical shape with many stepped sides. The matrix is a mix of sulfides and appears to be composed primarily of Bornite or Covellite. Small crystals of Pyrite are also present in the matrix. There are also crudely shaped off white colored Calcite crystals with a slight pink tint. The specimen is in excellent condition.
