Mineral Specimen #1143 Rutile Twinned variety Sagenite and Rutilated Quartz
Medelsertal (Medel Valley), Grischun, Switzerland
Very dark brown to black, lustrous, Rutile twins which form a lattice work across the specimen. In places, small, very clear Quartz crystals have inclusions of Rutile. In some cases, the Rutile sticks out of the Quartz. This is apparently an older specimen. The specimen is in very good condition, although the Quartz crystals are broken on the section of the specimen where there is no Rutile. The specimen is particularly interesting closeup and under magnification.
