Mineral Specimen #1126    Titanite Twin and Chlorite on Adularia

Warren Brothers Quarry, Acushnet, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, USA

A very nice twinned, gemmy, green Titanite crystal with Chlorite setting on Adularia. The Chlorite is a dark gray color but very shiney and contrasts nicely with the Adularia which is white with a slight hint of pink coloration. The specimen is in very good condition. The Titanite crystal is 11.5 mm long and is in excellent condition with the exception of a small internal fracture near one end. There are a few other smaller Titanite crystals. It is amazing how similar specimens from this quarry just south of Boston are to Swiss alpine specimens.

8.1 x 5.3 x 1.8 cm
