St John's Island (Zagbargad, Isle of Topazios), Red Sea, Egypt

This is classic material mined since ancient times. Whenever Topaz is mentioned in the Bible, it is actually a reference to the Peridot from this location (the Isle of Topazes). The crystal is very transparent, a bright green color especially vivid along the edge and in excellent condition. It has been glued upon styrofoam which has been glued upon a fold up box.
