State Stone of Michigan

A well polished Petoskey Stone. This is the state stone of Michigan. It is colony coral from the Devonian Age and are approxiamately 350 million years old. The Coral has been replaced with Calcite. The stones cannot be tumbled polished and are usually polished by hand on a wheel.
