Mineral Specimen #1068 Fluorite
Holloway Quarry, Berlin Township, Monroe County, Michigan, USA
Fluorite from Michigan is fairly rare. This is from one of the quarries in the Southeast corner of the state between Detroit and Toledo. The Fluorite ranges in color from clear to light brown to dark brown. The crystals have good luster and clarity. The largest crystals are about 1 cm on an edge. The Fluorite fluoresces cream yellow under UV. The specimen is in good condition with little appreciable damage. Collected by John Medici.
