Mineral Specimen #1049 Sand and Gravel included Selenite
Great Salt Plains, Jet, Alfalfa Co., Oklahoma, USA
Sand included Gypsum specimens from this location are fairly common in collections here in the US. In fact, specimens can be still collected at the loaction and new crystals are constantly forming there. What is very unusual about this specimen is both its size and the fairly large pieces of gravel attached to the specimen. This specimen was collected sometime prior to 1975. The specimen is in excellent condtition with no appreciable damage.
