Mineral Specimen #1032 Tourmaline
Malkhan pegmatite field, Krasnyi Chikoy, Chitinskaya Oblast', Transbaikalia, Eastern-Siberian Region, Russia
The most striking feature of this large Tourmaline crystal is its rich, dark, pink color. The crystal is actually composed of a multitude of parallel orientated crystals all ending in a flat termination. The specimen has good luster and many of the sub crystals are quite gemmy. The specimen is in very good condition, although there is a single crystal broken at the termination (this was a crystal which was at an angle from the majority of the specimen and can be seen in the back of the top of the first photo and is not very noticeable). There is some minor Albite attached to one side.
