Mineral Specimen #1026 Dolomite on Hematite coated Quartz with Galena and Chalcopyrite
Jiu Bao San Mine, Wuhuashan, Jiangxi Province, China
The contrast of colors and crystal habits makes this a very attractive specimen. The Quartz, Galena and Dolomite have good luster. The Quartz has a overlayer of speckles of red Hematite. The Dolomite is colored by Hematite a pastel pinkish orange. The only damage appears to be a broken Chalcopyrite. The Chalcopyrite has a covering of dark tarnish, but the broken crystal is a bright gold.
