Mineral Specimen #1021    Fibrous Malachite

Copper Queen Mine, Queen Hill, Bisbee, Warren District, Mule Mts, Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

This specimen is considerably more attractive in person. It is a richer, emerald green and has much better luster as depicted in the photos. There are two sections of the Malachite, covering most of one side and one end. The matrix is a combination of reddish brown and lustrous black. This appears to be Hematite (a scratch test yields reddish brown).

11.5 x 6.9 x 4.7 cm
